The Truth About Chyna’s Huge Playboy Sales May Have Been Revealed

While it might seem unbelievable now, considering how long WWE has presented a PG product, but in the past, several female talents would appear in Playboy magazine, with one of the biggest selling issues being Chyna’s, who actually featured twice. However, it has now been suggested by former WWE writer Tommy Blacha on the Tales from the Attitude Era podcast that this only happened because WWE purchased a large percentage themselves.

“I remember when Chyna was on the cover of Playboy. And that was like the biggest selling one ever, and I remember I had a moment with Vince, or I kind of, naively said, like, Oh wow, that’s really something incredible. And he goes, ‘Yeah, how do you think that happened?’ And I’m like, what? And he is like, yeah, ‘unbelievable.’ I believe he was intimating, No sh*t, we f*cking made that happen by buying them all” Tommy Blacha

Chyna, who is still regarded as one of the biggest female stars in WWE history, sadly passed away aged just 46 from an accidental overdose. Subsequently, WWE would posthumously honor her by including her as D-Generation X’s Hall of Fame induction despite her troubled final years. However, to many fans, this wasn’t enough, and they believe she deserves a solo induction due to her influence during the Attitude Era.
