Confirmation Of Why Seth Rollins Was Written Off WWE Television

Following WrestleMania XL, Seth Rollins took a hiatus from WWE, with it later revealed he’d undergone knee surgery. Therefore, fans were shocked when he returned to the ring just three months later, challenging then-WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest at Money In The Bank.

However, since then, he hasn’t wrestled, and during this week’s episode of Raw, he was seemingly written off television following an attack by Bronsen Reed, which featured multiple Tsunami splashes. And now it has been reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that while Rollins is still medically cleared, due to having “ chronic ” issues, the angle was done so he could take some more time off.

“Rollins is cleared but is still banged up and is trying to get in the best physical condition. His issues are chronic but not at the point to getting flagged. He’s trying to stay ahead of the things so will be taking a little time off.”

Earlier this year, there was speculation that Rollins could be set to depart WWE due to his contract approaching its expiry and the fact that no new deal had been offered. Still, despite the fact he was recovering from knee surgery, Rollins is far too valuable to the company to risk him joining AEW. Thus, as most anticipated, he would sign a multiple-year contract extension shortly after WrestleMania XL.
