UPDATE: Afa Anoa’i sadly died on Friday .

On Thursday evening, wrestling fans were heartbroken after Dave Meltzer reported on X that WWE Hall of Famer Afa Anoaʻi had passed away. However, shortly afterward, his daughter would correct this by saying, “ He’s not gone yet, ” and Meltzer deleted his original tweet and posted an update. Still, this wouldn’t go down well with fans, as the replies have questioned his reporting ability and lack of an apology.

In recent years, 81-year-old Afa Anoa’i, best known to wrestling fans for being part of the legendary Wild Samoans tag team, has been dealing with various health issues relating to his heart. Additionally, earlier this year, he suffered a nasty fall and fractured his back, resulting in his family asking for prayers. However, it appears Anoa’i isn’t down for the count just yet and is continuing to fight on bravely.
