Backstage News On Adam Cole’s AEW Return

AEW’s Adam Cole has been sidelined from the ring after breaking his ankle in three places when he jumped off the entrance ramp last September. Yet despite this, it was still revealed he was The Devil at World’s End and would be involved in MJF’s return to AEW at Double or Nothing. However, having been off the road due to traveling hindering his recovery, Fightful Select has now reported that Cole’s return appears to be imminent.

“Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp has learned that Adam Cole was backstage at the August 14 episode of AEW Dynamite … However, perhaps a more promising sign of return was word that emerged from backstage was that Cole was set to resume training for a hopeful return as soon as next week.”

35-year-old Cole hasn’t had the best fortune with injuries since joining AEW, as in addition to his severely broken ankle, he previously missed nine months from the ring after suffering a career-threatening concussion at Forbidden Door in 2022. Still, he bravely battled back from this huge setback, proving his resiliency, and there is no reason to believe he won’t be able to make another such comeback, with fans wondering where he will resume his feud with MJF or go in a different direction altogether.
