When Bryan Danielson departed WWE, he promised the company that he would respect their intellectual property and wouldn’t use his iconic “ Yes! Yes! Yes! ” catchphrase and gesture on AEW television. Yet, with the trademark recently becoming available, it was noted that Danielson had filed to take ownership, which made it appear the chant could be about to become part of his character again.

And now, during a conversation with the Daily Star , the AEW wrestler has commented on the application, revealing he has no current plans to use it and only applied because his manager told him it was cheap.

“He said, ‘Do you want me to get it?’ I said, ‘Uh, how much does that cost?’ And he told me it wasn’t that much money, so I was like, ‘Oh sure.’

Do I have any plans on doing anything with it? I don’t know. I don’t want to sell anybody anything, you know what I mean? So I’m just like, I have it if I do want to do something with it … So if I wanted to do a ‘Yes! Yes! Yes!’ podcast—which I don’t want to do, I could, in theory, do that. Or if I wanted to sell t-shirts with ‘Yes! Yes! Yes!’ which I don’t necessarily want to do, I could do it.”

Danielson didn’t actually create the “ Yes! ” chant, with former UFC fighter Diego Sanchez introducing it to fans during his entrance to the Octagon. However, unlike with Danielson, fans wouldn’t chant it with him, which is the significant difference between the two versions. Still, it seems doubtful that Danielson intends to use the catchphrase again and only wanted ownership because of its availability.
