JBL Reveals How He Kept His Triplemanía Appearance Secret

Nowadays, it’s really hard to surprise wrestling fans due to the number of leaks promotions have, and fans can share photographs and videos on social media in seconds. However, JBL’s appearance alongside Nic Nemeth at AAA’s latest Triplemanía event stunned Mexican fans who haven’t seen the WWE Hall of Famer in the flesh for years. And now JBL, who previously wrestled in the land of lucha libre as Vampiro Americano, has revealed on X that he avoided being spotted by wearing masks.

57-year-old JBL retired from full-time competition in 2009, although he would make a one-off appearance in the Royal Rumble match in 2014, which was the year Batista won. Still, despite stepping away from the ring, he has remained associated with WWE since then as both a commentator and via Legends contract. Therefore, his appearance for another wrestling company was very unexpected, although with AAA no longer working with AEW, it seems doubtful that WWE would have an issue.
