Pat McAfee is a beloved figure on WWE television, and his genuine passion for the business is evident to everyone who watches the project. However, the former NFL punter has now confirmed on his Instagram Stories that this week’s episode of Raw will be his last one on commentary “ for a while .” This is because, as was previously announced, he is returning to College Game Day, which is one of ESPN’s most popular shows.

“Tonight will be my last trip to that wonderful WWE family for a while, I’m bummed out. Football season is starting, which is awesome, but the WWE family is where I’m supposed to be, I know that, and I hope they do too.”

37-year-old McAfee has been involved with WWE since 2018 when he initially started out as a pre-show analyst for NXT’s TakeOver shows. Since then, he has become a color commentator on both Raw and SmackDown and an in-ring performer, with his biggest match to date being a defeat to Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 38.
