TNA Suspends Former Champion Following Arrest

In troubling news, PostWrestling.com has reported that TNA talent Rich Swann was arrested back in June for disorderly public intoxication and causing a disturbance. According to the police report that has just been discovered, Swann attempted to forcefully enter an apartment and later caused a woman distress by following her. Police would, therefore, arrest Swann with it alleged he smelt of alcohol and his speech was slurred.

Additionally, it was noted that Swann had been arrested for the same offense in September 2022, although that didn’t get picked up by the media at the time. However, with TNA having now been made aware of these arrests, the promotion has issued a statement disclosing that their former World Champion has entered rehab and is suspended while an investigation is carried out.

“TNA Wrestling takes any and all charges against its performers seriously, Rich Swann is responsible for his own personal actions. He has informed TNA Wrestling that he is voluntarily entering into a substance abuse rehabilitation program. TNA Wrestling has suspended Rich pending the completion of its investigation into the incidents.”

33-year-old Swann looked set for big things when he signed for WWE in 2015, although after being arrested for domestic violence against his wife and fellow wrestler Su Yung, he departed the company, with it claimed to be by mutual agreement. Still, despite his reputation being tarnished, after the charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence, he began getting booked again, leading to him joining TNA, then called Impact Wrestling in 2018.
