Linkin Park Shares Another Update With Fans

Linkin Park frustrated fans on Wednesday when a countdown clock that presumably was going to lead to news about the band’s future suddenly started counting the opposite direction. A glitch occurred in the clock at the 09:05 mark, leading many to believe that the news would now drop on Sept. 5.

Linkin Park has confirmed that’s the case, essentially giving an update on an update. Rumors have swirled as to who the band’s new singer might be. Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley shot down speculation earlier this week that it was him after he coincidentally said he was making an announcement on the same day.

Saliva’s current frontman Bobby Amaru, who has worked with Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda previously, shared a cover of the band’s song “Lying From You” and then announced he had just landed in Los Angeles, fueling speculation that he might fill the position left by the late Chester Bennington. Shinoda is based out of L.A.
