Four years after initially being announced, Netflix’s docuseries on the life of WWE’s former head honcho, Vince McMahon, finally has a streaming date, with September 25 having been confirmed. And while many suspect the series will be very pro-WWE and paint McMahon in the best possible light, it does appear it will genuinely be warts and all, as PostWrestling.com has reported that there was an attempt to get an interview from Janel Grant.

“Netflix’s documentary group made initial outreach to Janel’s representation for an interview for this project. Despite this, no such interview came to fruition.”

Janel Grant became known to wrestling fans in January when the WWE employee filed a lawsuit against McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and the entire company. In this, she would allege she had been sexually assaulted and, despite having previously signed an NDA, wanted it voided due to the Speak Out Act and the fact McMahon hadn’t met his payment obligations. Subsequently, McMahon’s legal representatives issued a statement denying the allegations. However, the disgraced billionaire still opted to resign due to the bad publicity, which threatened to harm WWE and their new parent company, TKO.
