Maria Kanellis Shares Worrying Information Regarding Her Upcoming Surgery

Maria Kanellis has unfortunately been dealing with multiple health issues in recent years and recently disclosed on social media that after a growth had been discovered, she requires surgery. And now the former WWE Diva has shared an update on X announcing she will be going under the knife on October 24, although worryingly added she is taking medication in an attempt to prevent her suffering a heart attack during the operation.

“They think it’s a pheochromocytoma which means I have to take medication before I can have surgery so I don’t have a heart attack during surgery. As of right now the surgery is scheduled for October 24th.”

42-year-old Kanellis broke into the business in 2004 via WWE’s Diva Search, which also featured Christy Hemme and Michelle McCool. Yet, despite only placing fifth, she would still be signed by the company, leading to a six-year run. From there, she joined ROH alongside her future husband, Mike Bennett, which was followed by a spell in TNA and then a return to WWE in 2017.

However, her WWE comeback failed to meet expectations, partly due to her having been pregnant twice. Still, after departing the company for a second time, she would reestablish herself in ROH and then TNA, which opened the door for her signing with AEW along with Bennett in October 2022.
