When Bryan Danielson left WWE, he promised the company that he would respect their intellectual property and wouldn’t use his iconic “ Yes! Yes! Yes! ” catchphrase and gesture on AEW television. Still, with the trademark recently becoming available, it became known that the current AEW World Champion had filed to take ownership of it after being made aware of its availability. However, it seems he may have hit a roadblock in his attempt, as during a recent interview with Luke James Chats , he revealed WWE contacted him with “ some sort of legal letter ,” although noted it wasn’t a cease and desist.

“It’s weird. I applied for it, and then I got, well, it wasn’t exactly a cease and desist. I got some sort of legal letter from WWE.”

Danielson didn’t actually create the “Yes!” chant, as former UFC fighter Diego Sanchez introduced it to fans during his entrance to the Octagon. Yet, unlike with Danielson, fans wouldn’t chant it with him, which is the significant difference between the two versions. Still, it now seems likely that his application will end up canceled unless he wants to get involved in an expensive legal battle with his former employer.
