Earlier this week, WWE filed a trademark application for “ Saturday Night’s Main Event ,” with it understood the show is set to return in December thanks to the company’s television deal with NBCUniversal. And now, Greg Gagne has disclosed on his Straight Talk With The Boss podcast that Jesse Ventura, who recently mended his relationship with WWE thanks to Triple H, is set to be involved in the show. Precisely what his role will be wasn’t confirmed, although many fans will be hoping it will be commentary-related.

“I mean, with what they’re paying those guys to come in, I think Jesse’s going to do, they’re doing some NBC Saturday night shows, about four of them, they’re gonna use Jesse for that.”

For those unaware, Saturday Night’s Main Event was a big WWE show that initially ran from 1985 to 1992 and returned for five shows between 2006 and 2008. Its introduction was due to the high ratings that two WWF specials drew on MTV in 1984–85, which caught NBC’s attention. Highlights of past broadcasts include a rematch from WrestleMania III of Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant, resulting in the WWF title being vacated. Plus, a massive Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage vs. The Big Boss Man and Akeem tag match which led to the Mega Powers breaking up.
