Kayla Braxton Comments On Her Infamous Backstage Interview With LA Knight

Several months ago, speculation commenced that Kayla Braxton’s future might not be with WWE due to her changing her usernames on social media to reflect her legal surname, Becker. Therefore, it didn’t come as a massive surprise when, not long afterward, she announced her WWE departure, with her final show being the June 28 episode of SmackDown.

And now, during a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet , the much-loved presenter on the now infamous backstage interview she did with LA Knight a few weeks before her WWE exit, where she seemed very uninterested in participating.

“Everyone knows it’s got kind of blown up online about me and LA Knight. We had an interview towards the end of my days there, and I don’t know what was going on. I think I was just really tired, and he and I were going back and forth backstage, and he kept saying he was trying to get me to say, ‘Yeah’, but he also just insulted me on TV. So I felt like my character wouldn’t have said, ‘Yeah,’ but whatever my facial expression was, the internet is still talking about saying that. I just looked like I ruined the entire promo by by my reaction. The fact that an announcer, an interviewer can ruin a promo just shows how important the interviewer actually is.”

The 33-year-old interviewer had been with WWE since 2016, initially debuting as a ring announcer for NXT. From there, she became a regular backstage interviewer on numerous pay-per-views before permanently departing NXT and joining the main roster in August 2019. Additionally, she memorably co-hosted WWE’s popular online interview show, The Bump, although she would eventually leave this role to focus on her other more high-profile WWE responsibilities.
