Wardlow hasn’t wrestled since March, and while it’s known he had a knee injury, things have gone quiet on his status in recent months. However, during an interview with the Stick To Wrestling podcast, Matt Taven has revealed that Wardlow remains sidelined for the same reason, noting that he needs to figure out the best treatment plan. Seemingly this indicates that his return remains some way off.

“I mean, Wardlow’s out with a knee injury, and as a guy with plenty of knee injuries in the past, they can be tricky. You start to think they’re one thing, and then you think they’re another, and then you think, oh, I can get away with doing this or that, and it seems to be more serious so I think he’s just trying to figure out exactly what the best kind of treatment plan is to get him back on track with that knee.”

36-year-old Wardlow broke into the business in 2014, and while he attempted to sign with WWE during the early days of his career, he ultimately wasn’t hired. Still, he didn’t give up on his pro wrestling dream and would join AEW in 2019, where he was put alongside MJF as his bodyguard. From there, he became a prominently featured talent, and at one point, he looked like he could be a future world champion following matches with CM Punk and MJF. Yet, while he has since significantly cooled off, he remains just one major program away from delivering on his potential.
