Over the weekend, news broke that Journey Fatu, The Tonga Kid’s son, Jacob Fatu’s brother, and Rikishi’s nephew, had gone missing. Yet, while most were worried, some suspected that it could be a storyline because Journey had been active on social media after the date it was claimed he went missing. And now, having faced a great deal of backlash online from fans and even put on blast by Chris Hero in a now-deleted tweet, Juicy Finau, who is behind the angle, has issued an apology via X . In this, he would claim he was unaware of the real-life situation of people going missing due to Hurricane Helene.

“First & Foremost I want to apologize for any emotional damage & distress I have caused with the following Journey angle. We’ve been working on this story since early august for our home promotion Unfortunately I wasn’t aware of the situation that is currently happening in the real world. I want to apologize for My ignorance to current world events. I am sorry To those I have offended with this I apologize sincerely. This was only meant to be a story and it blew up. I am sorry.”

Due to being part of the legendary Anoaʻi family, Journey Fatu was seemingly always going to try pro wrestling and broke into the business back in 2016. Initially, he would team with his brother Jacob Fatu, who is currently part of the SmackDown roster, although since then, he has become a death match specialist, sharing a ring with well-known names from that genre, such as Atticus Cogar, Mance Warner, and Jimmy Lloyd. Still, it seems doubtful that this wrestling style will open any doors for him at WWE, which, considering his family heritage, was a realistic possibility.
