As soon as it became known that Ricochet was AEW-bound, fans began to salivate about the possibility of him facing Will Ospreay, with the highflyers having not wrestled each other in seven years. Therefore, when Tony Khan booked this matchup for Dynamite’s 5th-anniversary episode, fans were thrilled, with the match going on to deliver precisely what was expected by those who have witnessed the duo share a ring previously.

Still, despite the contest living up to expectations, some vocal fans on social media have since complained, saying the match had too many flips and compared it to a gymnastics routine. And now, proving that Ospreay sees the feedback, the British star has taken to X himself to acknowledge the criticism and says he will use it to grow as a performer.

“Man 8 years on and it still sparks emotion out of you guys. I appreciate the love & hate. It’s all criticism to take on board to help grow us as performers. But I think more is to come.”

    Will Ospreay

Ospreay and Ricochet first wrestled each other on a RevPro show in Kent, England, all the way back in 2013. However, it was their 2016 and 2017 matches in New Japan that would put both men on the wrestling map, with clips showcasing their athleticism going viral. Subsequntly, this would see Ospreay positioned as a top international star for New Japan, while WWE would sign Ricochet on a multiyear deal.
