Update On Killswitch’s Health Following Recent Hospitalization

Last week, news broke that 39-year-old Austin Matelson, better known to fans by the ring names Killswitch and Luchasaurus, had been hospitalized due to pneumonia. Apparently, the AEW star had collapsed at his home and, thankfully, was found by his girlfriend before any permanent lung damage was caused. And now, in a further update via Fightful Select , it has been reported that he is back home and has been told by doctors he should be able to return to the ring eventually.

“He’s on oxygen. He’s back home. Was told to expect recovery over a month. His in-ring return remains unclear although the doctors he has spoken to say he should be able to return to the ring.”

Matelson broke into the business via WWE, initially working for their developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling, under the name Judas Devlin. However, after two years, he was released and decided to pursue a career in reality television, placing 5th in the 2015 version of Big Brother.

Still, with pro wrestling being his passion, he would return to action initially via indie shows, leading to him signing with Lucha Underground and performing as Vibora. Therefore, with this added television experience, he was perfect for AEW when the company first launched and needed to fill its roster with talented but mainly unknown wrestlers.
