Mark Briscoe Reveals Major WWE Stable The Briscoe Brothers Almost Joined

The Briscoe Brothers looked set for big things, having established themselves in Ring of Honor. However, their anticipated move to WWE would never materialize after Jay Briscoe tweeted out his opposition to same-sex couples being allowed to get married by saying, “ Try and teach my kids that there’s nothing wrong with that, and I’ll f*cking shoot you. ” Jay would subsequently apologize, but the damage was done, and he would never get an opportunity on a bigger stage.

And now, in a recent interview , Mark Briscoe, who is currently building a big fan following in AEW, has revealed that had Jay not tweeted what he did, the duo would have signed with WWE and joined The Wyatt Family, which, if this had happened, could have vastly changed WWE history.

“We were going to debut with the Wyatt Family.”

Jay Briscoe, real name Jamin Pugh, would tragically die following a car accident in January 2023. This would lead Mark to contemplate retiring from the ring. Still, thankfully, he didn’t, and this decision was rewarded by winning the ROH World Championship at Supercard of Honor. And while the pain of losing his brother will never go away, Mark did manage to pay tribute to him by naming his eighth child, Matthew Jamin.
