While Tony Khan currently owns Ring of Honor, the promotion has had several owners over the years, resulting in multiple people in charge at one time or another. And now, in depressing news, it has been reported that Joe Koff, who ran the company during the Sinclair Broadcast Group years, has passed away following a battle with cancer aged 73.

Following this confirmation, several wrestlers who worked with Koff have taken to social media to acknowledge his death, and among them was Cody Rhodes , who worked under him between 2016 and 2018.

Koff was born in New York, and therefore, when ROH ran Madison Square Garden, it wasn’t just a big deal for the company but also for him personally. However, after Tony Khan purchased the company, Koff exited the business. Still, rather than being resentful about this, he publicly thanked Khan and called his time with ROH the “ journey of a lifetime.
