Who CM Punk Will Be Wrestling At Survivor Series

Following his victory over Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood, CM Punk is taking some time away from the ring, partially due to being banged up but also because he has been publicly outspoken regarding Saudi Arabia shows. Yet, despite his absence from Crown Jewel, it appears WWE still has significant plans for Punk, as Ibou reported during the WrestlePurists Raw review show that he will be wrestling Gunther at Survivor Series for the World Heavyweight Championship.

45-year-old Punk stunned the pro wrestling world when he returned to WWE at last year’s Survivor Series, and while he was sidelined in January due to injury, he remained a featured part of WWE television. Therefore, despite wrestling so few matches since returning, it makes sense for WWE to put him in a high-profile Championship match to capitalize on his popularity. However, whether WWE will be tempted to put the belt on him, considering he works a reduced schedule and is susceptible to injury, is unclear.
