After Brock Lesnar was seemingly referenced twice during this week’s episode of Raw by Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, speculation commenced online that the former UFC star could be set to return to WWE television. Subsequently, this would increase after former Pro Wrestling Illustrated journalist Bill Apter stated on Backstage Pass that he’d heard the two sides were at least talking.

However, this has now been disputed by a report from Fightful Select , which states Lesnar hasn’t been brought up in a creative sense in some time, with their sources having not heard anything about him in months. Therefore, Lesnar’s return status remains as unclear as ever.

“Despite Triple H saying that Lesnar could be back in the fold at a recent, we’re told he has not been brought up creatively in quite some time. One source in creative told us they haven’t heard any updates regarding Lesnar in months, with another saying they’d be surprised if Lesnar was brought back in the middle of a federal investigation.”

It has now been over a year since Lesnar appeared on WWE television, as just before he was set to return for the Royal Rumble, Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and the company as a whole also incriminated him. Therefore, the company quickly distanced itself from one of its biggest stars to avoid any fan backlash. Still, with Lesnar not being convicted of a crime and the fact that many fans appear to be okay with him returning, it does seem to be just a matter of time before he resumes his pro wrestling career.
