Having been teasing their arrival for several weeks, prior to this week’s SmackDown, WWE posted a video online confirming that Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, collectively known as the Motor City Machine Guns, had signed with the company. Subsequently, the former TNA stars would defeat both Los Garza and A-Town Down Under in a triple threat, bringing them one step closer to becoming WWE Tag Team Champions.

And now, after their memorable debut victory, Sabin has taken to social media to thank fans and put the team over for “ inspiring and innovating an entire generation of tag team wrestling.

42-year-old Sabin, real name Joshua Harter, broke into the business in 2000 and, after three years, would become part of TNA, where he became a key part of the X Division, holding the division’s championship ten times throughout his career. However, his career highlight prior to joining WWE came in 2013 when he defeated Bully Ray for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, which he held for almost a month.

Additionally, during his time in TNA, he formed the MCMG’s tag team with former rival Alex Shelley in 2006, as mentioned in his tweet. Together, they won the TNA World Tag Team Championship three times, as well as the ROH World Tag Team Championship once, and the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship once.
