Paul Stanley Rips Jane’s Addiction For Onstage Fight

Last month, the rock world was stunned to see Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell get in a physical altercation with guitarist Dave Navarro in the middle of their Boston concert. The band would go on to cancel the remainder of their tour, and it seems unlikely a reconciliation will take place for the popular ‘90s alternative rockers.

In a new interview on “Steve-O’s Wild Ride!” podcast, KISS frontman Paul Stanley, who has been no stranger to disagreements or conflict within his own band, weighed in on the altercation when asked if he and anyone in KISS ever almost came to blows on stage.

“Cardinal rule: you don’t hit,” Stanley said. “And you don’t bring your problems on stage. You leave your ego — well, that’s more difficult. But you leave your anger and your resentment at the bottom of the stairs. And we would go on stage and have a great time sometimes playing and then walk off stage and not be talking to each other. The audience doesn’t deserve that. The audience paid. And that goes back to that same philosophy of being the band we never saw.”

He continued: “People get one chance to see you, possibly on a tour. It doesn’t matter about last night or about the night after — that’s their night, and for them to see you not interacting with your bandmate, that’s kid sh*t. That’s disrespectful to the people who paid.”

Stanley’s full interview can be viewed below.
