John Cena Explains The Timing Of His WWE Retirement
The big story coming out of Saturday night’s Money In The Bank premium live event was John Cena’s intention to retire from the ring. Wearing a t-shirt with the words “The Last Time is Now,” Cena would announce midway through the show that 2025 would be his final year as a professional wrestler and promised to answer questions about this during the post-show press conference. And now, during that session, he would explain why 2025 will be his last in the ring and noted even in retirement, he won’t be distancing himself from the business. 47-year-old Cena broke into the wrestling industry in 1998 via Ultimate Pro Wrestling, going by the name The Prototype. From there, he received a couple of WWE tryout matches in 2000, leading him to sign up for the company the following year and be assigned to its then-developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling. And while his television debut on SmackDown was memorable because he confronted Kurt Angle, after he subsequently failed to connect with fans in the following months, his future with the company was in doubt. However, after demonstrating his legitimate rap skills, he adopted the “The Doctor of Thuganomics” nickname, and his career began skyrocketing.
Return Of Famous WWE Event Has Officially Been Confirmed
In recent months, there has been speculation that WWE was looking to bring back its former event, Bad Blood (also known as Badd Blood). And now it has been confirmed via a video featuring record producer Metro Boomin and Cody Rhodes that the show will take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Saturday, October 5. This date, therefore, indicates the show is replacing Fastlane, and given Bad Blood’s history of Hell in a Cell cage matches, it seems likely such a contest will headline this year’s returning event. Bad Blood initially started as an In Your House pay-per-view in 1997 and is still remembered to...
Former WWE Star Jillian Hall Looks Unrecognizable In New Photo
Jillian Hall had a memorable six-year run with WWE, and while she would return for a Raw Reunion show and participate in the 2021 women’s Royal Rumble, she has mainly been out of the spotlight since departing the company. However, in recent days, the 43-year-old has become a topic of conversation among wrestling fans on social media after many fans called her unrecognizable after she shared a new Instagram photograph showing she no longer has her trademark blonde hair. 43-year-old Hall broke into the business in 1998 under the name Macaela Mercedes and joined WWE’s developmental territory, OVW, in 2003. From there, she would sign with WWE and, while remaining in OVW, was given a bizarre gimmick where her breast implants had leaked into her brain and made her psychotic. Subsequently, she would be called up to SmackDown and memorably had an enormous growth added to her face, which The Boogeyman would eventually eat while she was aligned with JBL. After this, she would be repackaged as a wannabe pop singer who lacked talent, and during this time, she achieved her career highlight by briefing holding the Divas Championship.
Recent Photo Of Brock Lesnar Goes Viral
Brock Lesnar is currently off WWE television after he was implicated in Janel Grant’s lawsuit, with it was alleged he requested an inappropriate video as well as wanting to meet with her for what was described as a “play date.” And while it’s understood WWE still employs him, many suspect he won’t return until Grant’s lawsuit is settled. And now, in what is a rare public appearance, the former UFC star has been photographed alongside a young fan. Subsequently, this photo would go viral on social media, with dozens of accounts posting the picture, with many speculating his lookalike daughter Mia is in the background. 46-year-old Lesnar was meant to be a participant in the men’s Royal Rumble match this past January, but following the problematic claims made, he was pulled, and Bron Breakker would instead take his spot. Since then, WWE and 2K have gone as far as to make Lesnar unplayable in their latest video game, and some believe his time in the business may very well be over, which, if accurate, would mean his final match was against Cody Rhodes at last year’s SummerSlam.
Spoiler On Potential Surprise Appearance At Money In The Bank
Shortly after his hard-hitting match with Solo Sikoa at last year’s Crown Jewel, John Cena announced on social media that he had undergone surgery on both his arms. Therefore, it was thought that it would be some time before he returned to the ring. However, after he made a surprise appearance during night two of WrestleMania XL to assist Cody Rhodes, he would team up with Awesome Truth against The Judgment Day on the following night’s episode of Raw. And now it appears he is set to return to WWE television at Saturday night’s Money In The Bank premium live event after Fightful Select was tipped off that the wrestler-turned-actor is in Toronto. 47-year-old John Cena has been very open about his intention to retire before he turns 50, and therefore, it seems he is trying to squeeze in as many WWE appearances as he can while still being a movie star. And while his film schedule isn’t public knowledge, it appears he is currently between making action movies “Heads of State” and “The Janson Directive,” and therefore free for another WWE return, even if just for one night.
Japanese Promotion Issues Statement On Minoru Suzuki’s Condition After He Collapsed During Match
In what must have been a terrifying situation for fans in attendance, Minoru Suzuki collapsed during his match at Saturday’s Tenryu Project event. The Japanese freelancer who has worked for New Japan, AEW, ROH, MLW, and GCW over the past year passed out during the bout, and after failing to respond to the referee, the match was stopped. Thankfully, the 56-year-old quickly regained consciousness, and now, following a visit to the hospital, the promotion has confirmed via their official website he was diagnosed with a concussion, with there being no bleeding on the brain. Suzuki initially trained at the New Japan dojo...
Tiffany Stratton Addresses Racist Instagram Story Aimed At Jade Cargill
Two months ago, Tiffany Stratton caused outrage on social media when she shared a short video on her Instagram Stories, which showed her hitting Jade Cargill and a voice saying, “black b*tch.” While she would quickly delete this, it was obviously saved and re-shared by many fans on social media who were with the WWE star. And now, while speaking to Adrian Hernandez ahead of Money In The Bank, Stratton has addressed this situation, saying she hadn’t listened to the audio before sharing. The 25-year-old former bodybuilder and gymnast broke into the wrestling business back in 2021, initially training with Greg Gagne, the son of the legendary AWA promoter Verne Gagne, before signing with WWE. From there, she was initially featured on NXT television. However, thanks to her charisma, athleticism, and good looks, she was fast-tracked to the main roster and now looks set to be a massive star, with many seeing her as a potential Money In The Bank winner.
Rare Piece Of nWo History Owned By Eric Bischoff Put Up For Sale
Over the years, both WCW and WWE made plenty of nWo merchandise available, with some items rarer than others. However, an incredibly unique piece of wrestling history has now been available to buy, with Eric Bishoeff’s custom nWo motorcycle, which appeared on television, being available to purchase via eBay. Yet it should be noted that any collector looking to add this piece to their collection will need deep pockets because the starting price is $15,000, and with there being a reserve, that may not be enough to get it. The nWo angle is not just an influential part of wrestling history, it was almost its defining chapter due to transforming WCW from a distant number two to the top wrestling promotion in the world. And while the stable would end up being diluted due to multiple mid-carders being added, the original incarnation of Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall is still highly regarded and would be inducted along with Sean Waltman into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2020.
JoJo Offerman Comments On Potentially Returning To The Ring
While she is nowadays best known for being Bray Wyatt’s fiancée and mother to two of his four children, JoJo Offerman is her own person and previously had a career in the wrestling business herself. And now, during an interview recorded at the River City Wrestling Convention, she stated that while her priority is being a mom, she is considering getting back in the ring. Whether this would be for fun or in an attempt to be a WWE Superstar isn’t known, although she certainly will have plenty of supporters. 30-year-old Offerman is the daughter of former baseball player José Offerman and broke into the business via the E! reality show Total Divas before appearing on WWE television. From there, she would sing the US national anthem at 2013’s SummerSlam before becoming a ring announcer and pro wrestler. However, her in-ring career was very short, with the highlight being her participation in a 14 Women Elimination match at 2013’s Survivor Series, where she pinned Tamina Snuka.

GoFundMe Launched For Former WCW Wrestler & Booker Kevin Sullivan
Two months ago, it was reported that former WCW wrestler and booker Kevin Sullivan, whose impact on the wrestling business is undeniable, had sadly been hospitalized. The exact nature of the 74-year-old’s condition, which necessitated emergency surgery, wasn’t disclosed, although the unfortunate situation was described at the time as being very serious. And now, a GoFundMe has been launched to assist him with medical bills and other expenses due to his current insurance being almost exhausted. Sullivan broke into the business in 1970, and while he was successful over the next decade, his career really went to the next level in Championship Wrestling From Florida during the ’80s. This was because he embraced an occultist cult leader gimmick, which was inspired by the Satanic panic of the time. From there, he would work for Jim Crockett Promotions/World Championship Wrestling, Smoky Mountain Wrestling, and Eastern/Extreme Championship Wrestling. Yet, despite being so well-traveled and the fact he booked WCW in the ’90s, he is likely best known to modern-day fans for being Nancy Benoit’s ex-husband.
System Of A Down’s Serj Tankian Blasts Imagine Dragons
System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian has let his feelings be known concerning Imagine Dragons and their decision to perform a show in Azerbaijan. Last month, Tankian blasted them after the band performed a Sept. 2, 2023 gig in Baku. “I don’t respect them as human beings,” Tankian told Metal Hammer. “F*ck their art, they’re not good human beings as far as I’m concerned.” Tankian wrote a letter to the band prior to the gig asking that they pull out saying the show would help to “whitewash the dictatorial regime’s image.” Imagine Dragons singer Dan Reynolds responded to Tankian’s...
Maxxine Dupri Says She Wants “A Hot Dog Real Bad”
With it being the 4th of July, WWE talents are getting a much-deserved day off. And now, indicating she has been enjoying the holiday, Raw’s Maxxine Dupri has shared a jaw-dropping photo on Instagram, which was taken at South Lake Tahoe and captioned, “makes me want a hot dog real bad.” For those unaware, this refers to a scene in the 2003 movie “Legally Blonde 2,” that starred Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Coolidge and which Dupri is clearly a fan of. 27-year-old Dupri, real name Sydney Zmrzel, joined WWE in 2021 after a successful tryout and would initially be used as a valet named Sofia Cromwell alongside Robert Stone for Von Wagner. However, WWE saw more in the former Los Angeles Rams cheerleader and Phoenix Suns dancer and fast-tracked her to the main roster as LA Knight’s kayfabe sister, Maxxine Dupri, as part of the Maximum Male Models. And while this stable ultimately flopped, it did open the door for Dupri to join Alpha Academy and establish herself as a featured character on WWE television.
Ash By Elegance Celebrates The 4th Of July With Patriotic Bikini Photo Drop
Ashley Sebera, known as Dana Brooke in WWE, is now part of TNA, having debuted in the crowd at Hard To Kill in January under the unique name Ash by Elegance, and since then, she has been showing her former employees what they’re missing. And now to mark July 4th, the blonde bombshell has wowed her fans with a very patriotic photo drop, which you can see below. 35-year-old Sebera worked for WWE for a decade but was never prominently featured in the women’s division despite her undeniable talent. Instead, she is likely best remembered by fans for being a multiple 24/7 Champion and for her backstage comedy segments with Tozawa, Reggie, and Tamina. Still, she is currently reinventing herself in TNA with her new glamour puss gimmick.
Vince Russo Has Wild Conspiracy Theory Regarding Shane McMahon’s Desire To Join AEW
Shane McMahon joining AEW recently became a topic of conversation among wrestling fans after podcaster Conrad Thompson revealed he had been speaking to current roster members about the prospect. Obviously, the odds of this happening seem low, although pro wrestling can be a crazy business, and it can’t be completely ruled out. And now, during an appearance on the Sportskeeda Wrestlebinge podcast, former WWE writer Vince Russo has gone as far as to suggest that the real reason Shane is interested in becoming All Elite is so he and his father Vince can take over the company. Russo has previously speculated that Vince McMahon was selling off his TKO shares in vast quantities because he was setting up for a “revenge tour,” which would see him launch a new wrestling company in 2025 once his non-compete expires. Yet despite this being a possibility, it still seems far-fetched as Vince is almost 80, and his reputation is in the gutter following Janel Grant’s lawsuit allegations, likely making it hard to find a major broadcast partner.
Big Indication Ricochet Is AEW-Bound
Earlier this week, Ricochet was moved to the alumni section of WWE’s website, and it was confirmed shortly afterward that his contract had expired. Therefore, most consider it only to be a matter of time before he signs with AEW, and seemingly indicating that it is in the pipeline, Fightful Select has reported that his agent was backstage at this week’s episode of Dynamite. 35-year-old Ricochet, real name Trevor Mann, broke into the business in 2003 and, after building up his name for a decade, would join New Japan, where he memorably wrestled fellow high-flyer Will Ospreay in matches that put both men on the map. And while it looked like his subsequent move to WWE would see Ricochet become a worldwide superstar, he was subject to very mixed booking, with his 90-second defeat to Brock Lesnar at Super ShowDown in 2020 firmly establishing him as a midcarder in the company.
WWE Talent Confirms He’s Re-Signed With The Company
It’s been known for some time that Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo’s WWE contracts were expiring this year, leading to speculation they could end up working elsewhere. And while Carrillo’s long-term future remains unknown, 31-year-old Garza has revealed during a Facebook live stream that he has re-signed with the company for an additional three years, noting, “It was an offer I straight-up could not reject.” After initially making his name in the United States via Impact Wrestling, Garza would sign with WWE in 2019. Yet, despite his look and talent, WWE has rarely pushed the third-generation wrestler for reasons that are unclear. Still, it appears he is happy enough in his current spot, and it will now be interesting to see whether his cousin Carrillo also intends to remain in WWE or instead wants to prove himself elsewhere.
Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx Open To Band Continuing As Avatars
Rock legends KISS sparked major debate when they revealed they would be continuing in the future as digital avatars. The technology to pull it off successfully still seems a few years away, but bassist Nikki Sixx seems open to the idea at some point for Mötley Crüe. “I love technology,” Sixx said. “I think as long as it’s coming from an artist that says, ‘I have something I wanna do and this technology is gonna help.’ Like with our video ‘Dogs Of War’. When I think of our first video, I don’t know how much… The video maybe cost a thousand...
System Of A Down Singer Hints Again At Leaving Band
System Of A Down singer Serj Tankian has been doing a run of interviews recently saying that he would be fine if the band moved on without him. He previously said he offered to quit in 2017 so the band could create new music, and he’s again told Metal Hammer that he would be OK with departing the group. Tankian said that he and drummer John Dolmayan, along with the rest of the band quite frankly, haven’t always seen eye to eye. “John means the world to me,” Tankian said. “He’s my brother-in-law, I love him, and I saw him just...
Ex-FFDP Guitarist Reveals Why He Left Band
Guitarist Jason Hook played in Five Finger Death Punch from 2009 to 2020. Health issues forced Hook to step away from the band, but he hadn’t elaborated on them until a recent interview with “Talkin’ Bout Rock.” When he left the band, Hook thanked the fans but added “I’ve kinda been issued a gag order, so I’m not saying anything.” Hook has now opened up about his struggles saying: “It was horrible. In most cases, our body is just listening to our brain, and I was experiencing a tremendous amount of stress at that phase of that situation, and it...
