WEBB CITY, MO – Webb City High School was packed on Wednesday evening as several local 6th-8th graders took part in 7 on 7 play.

75 young athletes would participate in the camp, as Cardinals head football coach Ryan McFarland looked to give them a feel for what the high school game might be like. Leading the camp with his high school players, McFarland discussed the importance of growing the game.

“The more we talked about it, the more we thought about growing the game. If you want to be able to complete passes on Friday night, we’ve got to get younger guys throwing and catching the ball”, said McFarland.

Senior quarterback Jackson Lucas complimented the young athletes and their dedication.

“Webb City football is their passion, and it’s good to know they’re taking it serious and want to be a part of our program,” said Lucas.

Boden, a rising 8th grader at Webb City, detailed the importance of getting good feedback from the coaches.

“They really just help you with everything,” said Boden.

“They’re talking to you, and telling you what you need to fix.”

Two more camps are scheduled with Webb City High School, the next 7 on 7 camp is set for Wednesday, July 17th.
