TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A federal judge ruled in favor of a former Kansas Highway Patrol major seeking reinstatement. Mark Bruce sued Gov. Laura Kelly and Kansas Highway Patrol leadership after he claims he was forced to resign in 2019 over allegations he didn’t address misconduct within the agency. Bruce was accused of covering up an interoffice affair and a potential domestic abuse case of another officer.

Boil Water Advisory Rescinded for the City of Culver, Ottawa County
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has rescinded a boil water advisory for the City of Culver – public water supply system located in Ottawa County. The advisory was issued because the water system could not maintain the minimum required chlorine residual. Failure to maintain disinfection residual may put the system at risk for bacterial contamination.
