    Weber City police to host National Night Out block party Aug. 6

    WEBER CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Weber City Police Department will host its first National Night Out event early next month.

    National Night Out is an annual campaign to promote partnerships between police and the community. It takes place on the first Tuesday in August.

    Weber City police will be participating in National Night Out for the first time when it hosts a block party on Aug. 6 from 6–9 p.m. along Frank B. Smith Drive, next to the Food City.

    The event will include inflatables, face painting, a school supply giveaway, a kids’ bicycle giveaway, food trucks and more.

    Police Chief Donald Harding said the department will also be raising money for four children in Scott County who are battling cancer.

    Anyone who would like to donate money to help with school supplies may do so at Weber City town hall or by messaging the police department through Facebook .
