Parents can now be fined for their children's crimes in Tennessee
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Tennessee parents can now be held accountable for their children’s crimes. The decision to hold them accountable boils down to the judge. The Parental Accountability Act became a law in Tennessee this week. It aims to stop children from committing crimes before they turn into serious criminals.
Man found guilty of selling meth near high school
An Appalachia man has been found guilty on a pair of drug-related charges Friday after selling methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of Central High School in Norton, Va. in May of 2019. The Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office says 60 year old Dennis Wayne Russell was found guilty of distribution of controlled substances within 1,000 feet of school property. The report says Russell sold meth from the Walmart parking lot in Norton near the school. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for September 4.

BRISTOL, Tenn. - The King University athletic department has announced the three individuals and two teams that have been selected to comprise the King Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2024. Hannah Witt '13 from women's cross country and track and field, Cory Rhodes '13 from baseball, Frank Morgan '12 from men's wrestling, the 2008 men's soccer team, and the 2014 women's wrestling team.
