AJ Badik Named to NAIA Academic All-American At Large Team
The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its 2024 CSC Academic All-American At-Large Teams on Wednesday afternoon. The 2024 Academic-All At-Large teams, selected by the CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC All-American team separately recognized honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
UCF Researchers Win DARPA Grant to Improve Autonomous Systems
Researchers at the University of Central Florida have received a $1.2 million grant from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to improve the training of autonomous systems, such as drones and self-driving cars. The grant will fund a 1.5-year project led by George Atia and Yue Wang, associate professors in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The goal is to develop artificial intelligence-based technologies that can help these systems better adapt to unknown variables and unexpected situations.
