LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Southern Indiana little league team is heading to the World Series. The Highlander Youth Recreation League, who are currently undefeated, is made up of 13- and 14-year-old boys. The team is gearing up to compete against the best teams in the country representing the Central Region.
Pedestrian dies after they were hit by a car on Bardstown Road
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is dead after he was struck by a car while trying to cross a street Tuesday night in Louisville. At about 10 p.m., Louisville Metro police responded to an injury accident involving a pedestrian struck in the 3500 block of Bardstown Road, near the Taco Bell, according to an LMPD news release.

High School volleyball and soccer seasons begin soon. Letcher County Central Volleyball opens the season August 21 at Hazard. Jenkins Volleyball begins on August 22 with a home game against Council VA. LCC boys and girls soccer opens the season with a doubleheader at home against Prestonsburg on August 12.
