As every parent knows, dealing with a toddler requires a lot of patience. Little kids have endless amounts of both energy and determination, and they're usually pretty stubborn about getting their way. But it's not just moms and dads who have to find ways of keeping their cool when a toddler pushes their buttons...even pets get put to the test!

In a video posted on July 11, a toddler girl seems to be trying to put the family dog to sleep — but she has a rather unusual way of doing it. For some reason, she's decided that she needs to cover the pooch with multiple pairs of shoes...and while many canines would head for the hills in this situation, this very tolerant doggo apparently has the patience of a saint!

"Why does he let her do this," wrote @bebopps1 . The way she pushed his head down when he (halfheartedly) attempted to get up! "GOOD NIGHT!!" Still, the dog couldn't have been too unhappy or he would have left the room in a hurry, as commenters pointed out.

"If the dog didn't like it he would 100% leave, he seems unfazed," wrote takara | first time mom.

"He's like meh okay," wrote Maggie Valentino.

"Doggo acting like it's just a regular day with his fur-ever friend," wrote Great Wolf Lodge.

If you're thinking of adding a dog to your family, you're probably wondering how you can find one just like the good boy in this video.

How to Choose the Best Dog Breed for Your Family

"Picking out a puppy for your family has so many factors," according to Parents. "Important to consider is the size of your home, how active you want the pooch to be, and how often they need to be groomed. Lindsey Wendt, DVM CVA CVT CCRT, chief veterinary officer for Antelope, says it’s beneficial to dig even deeper. 'You’ll need to consider things like your environment and the climate in which you live. Do you live in a busy city or on a farm? Do you live somewhere like Florida that is often hot?' she asks."

It's also important to consider a dog's breed. What kind of job was the dog bred for? Will you be able to give them the right outlet for those behaviors?

For example, Labradors (which make excellent family pets) were originally bred as waterfowl hunter dogs, so they're skilled swimmers and love the water. "Super friendly and social" Irish Setters, meanwhile, were bred to be birding dogs, so they need lots of exercise. Another great choice, Standard Poodles, are perfect for active families (who can keep up with their grooming).

Growing up with a dog has lots of benefits for kids, who learn how to be more compassionate and (hopefully) how to play gently with others! It's all about finding the right fit.
