EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Officials take a step towards hopefully improving affordable housing in the city. The newly approved project on the city’s west side will take place at Anchor Court Apartments.

The city approved $530,000 in the project’s contract. Located 2000 block of Columbia Street, officials say it will offer 64 living spaces.

That agreement is with Hope of Evansville Incorporated.

Officials say the units will be made available to people with a max income of 65% of average household income in the area .
““I think it’s great a lot of folks could use that…making their life better” ,” says Barry Englehardt, an Evansville resident.
