Gibson County accident shuts down portion of S.R. 165

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- In reference to parts of State Road 165 being impacted by an early morning wreck, deputies have shared more information with us.

The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) knows that the pickup crossed center of roadway and struck coal bucket.

Deputies are still trying to figure out why this happened.

The roadway has been opened.

The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office is asking drivers to avoid parts of State Road 165 due to an accident that occurred just before 4:30 morning.

The Gibson County Sheriff’s office says that the accident involved a semi and a pickup truck, with injuries reported. Both drivers were taken to a local hospital, but we are told that their injuries are not life threatening.

The area between County Road 1050 West and 575 South is still being cleared, as crews work the scene of the accident, but one lane of traffic is now open.
