HAUBSTADT, Ind. (WEHT) — Students at Haubstadt Community School are getting in the March Madness spirit.

Some students and faculty have created a men’s and women’s floor-to-ceiling bracket in the hallway which is keeping track of all the NCAA basketball championship games.

Eyewitness News is told the group took about five hours to construct and put up the brackets.

This is not the first year that Haubstadt students have had the brackets, but this is the first time students and faculty designed a women’s bracket.

“I like watching the March Madness games myself, so I like to participate in stuff like this,” says Haubstadt 8th grader Abigayle Steckler.

“I thought it was like just a really good thing to do because — kind of like what they both said — just listening to everyone being like, how the team did or something and being excited about it,” Haubstadt 8th grader Lily Schmitt says.

Though Steckler and Schmitt will not be at Haubstadt next year, they hope this tradition continues for other students and faculty to enjoy.
