HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A cat was freed from its ravioli can “prison” on Wednesday.

According to Union County Animal Control, a mail carrier called the organization on Wednesday morning about a cat that had a can stuck on its head near Road 6 in Whispering Meadows. A Union County Animal Control officer arrived to find a long haired cat with her head stuck in a can.

    Patient airlifted from Morganfield Ballpark

Officials say the cat was quickly detained, but the can wasn’t budging. Back at the shelter, with an extra set of hands and a pair of wire cutters, the can was quickly removed. Officials decided to name the cat Ravioli. Animal control officials say other than some dehydration and a stinky head, Ravioli the cat is recovering well.

A spokesperson for the facility posted, “Thank you to USPS mail carriers for being our eyes out in the community! It certainly takes a village!”
