UE hits 5 home runs in 17-6 win over Illinois

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – With the MVC tournament in town, it’s only right the Evansville faithful show out for the first round against Illinois State.

The Purple Aces swept the Redbirds earlier this season, and for a moment, it looked like it was getting late early. But there’s something about Braun Stadium in May that takes Evansville baseball to the next level.

UE run ruled the Redbirds in 7 innings, continuing to display dominance late in the season. The Purple Aces will play the winner of Murray State and Illinois-Chicago Thursday night at 7:30.
