HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The city of Uniontown is now looking to hire a police chief following the indictment of former chief Todd Bennett.

Officials say applicants must be at least 21-years-old, a high school graduate or equivalent and hold a valid Kentucky operator’s license upon hiring. Applicants must also not have any felon convictions or convictions related to domestic violence or any crimes of moral turpitude, including theft.

Former Uniontown Police Chief was indicted earlier this year after he was accused of theft and official misconduct. The indictment states Bennett was charged after allegedly taking a SKS rifle, a 12-gauge shotgun and a .22 handgun from the police department’s evidence locker from November 2023 to March 2024.
