    Dubois County Museum re-opens after flooding cleanup

    HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Dubois County Museum in Jasper is back to normal operations following cleanup efforts from recent flash flooding. Kathy Bachman with the Dubois County Museum confirmed to Eyewitness News that the museum opened as normal on July 9.

    Storms moved through the Jasper-area on July 3, dropping as much as 5 or more inches of rain across Dubois County. Rain flowed into parts of the museum, but officials say no artifacts or exhibits were damaged. The museum spent the 4th of July weekend cleaning floodwaters inside.

    Bachman says all cleanup work is complete. According to their website, the Dubois County Museum is open Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 2pm, Saturday from 10am to 4pm, and Sunday from 1pm to 4pm. The museum is closed on Monday’s, and all times listed are in the Eastern Time Zone.

    This is great news! A few of my neighbors at KnollRidge Apartments on Jaspers North Side spent the holiday weekend emptying their flood damaged apartments. Today, two more apartments are being emptied. Six apartments total are uninhabitable, and 7 people total are displaced.
