HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – An Evansville man is facing drug charges after police say they found multiple bags of crack cocaine in his moped.

Evansville Police say Robert Esters Jr. was pulled over allegedly failing to signal a turn on the road.

During a search of Esters’ moped, a clear baggie containing what appeared to be crack cocaine was allegedly found by officers. Police say they also found 16 individually packaged baggies and approximately $328.

Authorities say they deduced the individual bags and large amount of cash as an indicator of dealing cocaine.

Esters was booked in the Vanderburgh County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

It is said Esters shares familial ties with Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry.

Mayor Terry had this to say:

I was informed my brother was recently arrested by the EPD. It is an unfortunate situation, and my family will continue praying for him. There is a legal process that has to run its course.
