HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita is suing a former Evansville Executive Parks Director, seeking to reclaim alleged misused funds.

The lawsuit alleges Brian Holtz did not go through the proper avenues to use the funds such as unauthorized purchases and discrepancies were discovered during an audit.

It also alleges Holtz failed to submit required Mayor Approval Requests for work that was completed or used altered or fictious purchase orders to represent false authorization. Rokita also alleges the misuse of funds cost the city of Evansville money.

The lawsuit says Holtz also violated policy by entering into a contract on behalf of the city for the purchase and installation of an audio/visual system for the Aquatic Center in the amount of $50,000 to $150,000.

Holtz pled guilty to forgery, official misconduct and counterfeiting last year, avoiding a felony conviction.
