    “I voted” sticker contest finalists announced, 2 finalists in the Tri-State

    HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Secretary of State Michael Adams announced the nine finalists for the inaugural “I Voted” Sticker Contest. Secretary Adams narrowed it down to three choices from elementary, from middle, and from high schools respectively. Two of those finalists are from western Kentucky.

    “It’s never too soon for young Kentuckians to engage civically, and we’re glad to enlist our kids to design the ‘I Voted’ sticker, and to let Kentuckians decide which design will win,” said Adams.

    The winners from the Tri-State are:

    • Elementary School
      • Addy Wells, Jesse Stuart Elementary School, Hopkins County – Second Place
    • Middle School
      • Eden Barksdale, Barksdale Home School, Ohio County – Second Place

    According to Hopkins County Schools, Wells created her sticker design as a 5th grader at Jesse Stuart Elementary and is now a student at James Madison Middle School.

    Officials say Kentuckians can cast their ballot for their favorite sticker at the Secretary of State’s Office booth at the Kentucky State Fair. Voting is taking place now through the end of the State Fair, which is on August 25, at the Kentucky State Fairgrounds on 937 Phillips Lane, in Louisville. it will be at the Secretary of State Booth, South Wing B. To locate the Secretary of State’s booth, walk towards the pole marked “B10”.

    Officials say the top vote getter’s design will be printed on stickers and sent to interested county clerks to provide to voters in November.
