OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) — Summer is winding down, but a Daviess County pool may just be opening. After several delays, the Owensboro Parks and Recreation Director says they hope to have Cravens Pool open by the first week of September.

The pool deck’s concrete is finished, and crews are currently painting the bottom of the pool and installing an aluminum fence.

Once construction is completed and approved by the state inspector, they would like to open for 4 to 6 weeks.

Officials say whether that happens will depend on a state requirement of 70-degree weather and enough staff.

Officials say they will likely operate on a 4-day schedule during that month long period.
