EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The Evansville Parks Board approves a new Hydration Station for the city’s riverfront.

The board approved the placement of the station at the site of LST-325.

The station is a free automated, outdoor, water dispensing system. The water is chilled in the summer, and includes a heater to prevent pipes from freezing in the winter.

Hydration Station was founded in 2022 by student, Jack Dieg, through the University of Evansville’s “Change-maker Challenge.”

This is the second “Hydration Station” to be placed on the riverfront.

The first public station opened last month at the “Sunrise Pump Station.”
