EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Hundreds of Evansville homes will be without water for a couple of hours and under a boil advisory this weekend.

This is part of an Evansville Water and Sewer Utility project to add a new waterline to the existing system. Roadway is also said to be restricted Friday night.

The intersection of Stringtown, East Campground and Petersburg Roads will be closed or heavily restricted between 7 p.m. on Friday until 7 a.m. on Saturday.

The temporary outage will kick off at 10 p.m. Friday coinciding with traffic restrictions.

EWSU believes the area labeled below will be without water for five hours for a waterline improvement project. This area will also be under a boil water advisory.

“We can always buy bottle water,” says resident Stephanie Powers. “Its not end of the world but you know it’ll be a little bit of an inconvenience.”

Stringtown Elementary School is amongst those affected by the outage and boil advisory. It is said the school system will deliver drinking water and hand washing stations.
