Publix Super Markets coming to Owensboro

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Officials say Publix Super Markets has executed a lease on a new store location in Owensboro.

The location of Publix will be at Gateway Commons on the northwest corner of Pleasant Valley Road and Hayden Road. The 50,325 square ft. store will employ approximately 150 associates. An opening timeframe has not yet been determined.

“We are thrilled to soon welcome Publix to Owensboro. Their decision to open a store here is a testament to the strong and growing business environment our city offers,” says Owensboro City Manager Nate Pagan. “Owensboro is a great place to do business, and we look forward to the positive impact Publix will have on our community.”

A spokesperson for the business says, “We are excited to continue our growth across Kentucky with 11 locations now announced in the state. We look forward to our new customers experiencing the Publix difference soon!”
