Safety concerns cancels Owensboro Catholic girls soccer season

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Owensboro Catholic announces the cancellation of the varsity girls soccer season due to a lack of available players.

Athletics Director, Jason Morris, says due to injuries at the beginning of the season, they deemed it unsafe to continue on with the season and moved to cancel the remainder of the season.

While the varsity schedule has been cancelled, it is said the available players will still get to play this year on the junior varsity team.

Morris says he looks forward to having a varsity season again next year.
