Daviess County Fire gets new life saving equipment

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The Daviess County Fire Department has acquired new waterproof ice rescue suits.

The Daviess County Fiscal Court took to Facebook to announce the fire department’s new equipment. It says the suits are completely waterproof with a watertight hood, gloves and attached boots. The post goes on to say that these suits will protect first responders from ice cold water.

The department also received two boats that can be deployed along with first responders in the ice suits.

The post says the equipment was given to the fire department by Mustang Survival.

Wednesday the Daviess County Fire Department was at the Owensboro Health Park to test out the new suits in a training exercise.
