HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Officials with the University of Evansville have confirmed to Eyewitness News that Athletic Director Ziggy Siegfried has made verbal offers to either pay USI to play against UE at the Ford Center.

According to a statement, there were offers to play one game at the Ford Center or do a “2 for 1”, meaning two games played at the Ford Center over two years and one game at USI.

Officials have clarified that these offers have all been verbal, and nothing contractual is in place. The university also declined to share any dollar amount that was offered. It is also unclear when the offers were made.

In a statement about the proposed men’s basketball match-up at the Ford Center, UE Director of Media Relations said the two athletic directors have a close relationship, and both parties just want to make sure they are doing what is best for their respective university.
