HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Authorities have confirmed the man who drove a vehicle into a Silver Birch assisted living apartment building on Wednesday night has been arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance.

Officials say Wesley Nicholson, 38, was likely impaired when his vehicle crashed through a fence in the 400 block of south Governor Street and continued for 30 more yards before crashing into a building. Authorities confirm narcan was utilized at the scene, and paraphernalia was found inside the vehicle.

No injuries were reported inside the apartment, but two rooms had to be evacuated. The building commission responded and authorized the removal of the vehicle.

Nicholson was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. He is being held without bond.
